Our global marketing team is responsible for developing and articulating the marketing vision and strategy for both the consumer and B2B businesses. They run campaigns for acquisition and retention; they drive brand visibility and thought leadership for 7digital in the marketplace through PR and external communications. They are responsible for content development, from pulling metrics and analysing data, to creating infographics and writing the weekly blog posts. They own the strategy for social media and along with the Music team, use Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn to drive engagement with users. They work with our partners to ensure best practices and drive marketing engagement and they promote our API to developers.
Managing 7digital’s consumer stores all around the world is no small feat; it takes a team of music lovers comprised of 11 different nationalities to achieve this. They work tirelessly to satisfy a variety of musical tastes, communicating their passion for all types of music by devising tempting promotional campaigns and composing imaginative and expertly-informed editorial. Our Music Team are the people you probably didn’t know you knew: they are the ones sending you emails about all the hidden musical gems they’ve discovered and keeping you informed on the latest deals via Twitter and Facebook. When they’re not liaising with both major and indie labels, or getting excited about new promos they’ve received, they can be found scouring blogs and music magazines so that our customers can be amongst the first in the know about the next big thing.
The 7digital Sales Team are responsible for seeking out new partnerships and maintaining relationships with existing B2B partners. As a tech-savvy and commercially-minded bunch, they use their knowledge to integrate bespoke, digital music and e-book solutions into business plans for brands, startups and developers. They’ve previously devised one-off campaigns for brands such as Kit Kat, Pringles, Ribena and Coca-Cola, and worked closely on long-term projects with software companies such as Acer, HP, Samsung, Toshiba and RIM. Based in the UK and the US they manage clients all over the world.
Behind all of our magnificent media services is an ever-expanding database of music, video, and e-books. Behind that is the expert management of our Content Team. Primarily focused on the ingestion of media and metadata and directing the appropriate content to the right customers as promptly as possible, they process around 100,000 tracks each week and can take credit for the 22+ million track-strong 7digital catalogue. Also within the Operations Department is our exceedingly friendly Customer Services Team. This heroic bunch work in eight different languages to maintain our help pages, test forthcoming services and, of course, answer customer queries related to our own sites and those of the various partners, devices and stores that we are affiliated with.
Our forward-thinking Technology Team is comprised of the Development and Systems teams. Development are at the forefront of technical innovation and well-respected within the industry. Heavily inspired by Agile, XP and Lean development practices, the developers work in small, self-organising teams, with each group focused on one major product or service. As well as our consumer sites, the Development Team are responsible for managing 7digital’s API; the platform which allows other developers and partners to work with our music catalogue and technology to create their own music based products and services.
Underpinning 7digital’s innovative technology is the network and server infrastructure that provides the backbone for serving up all of the content we license. The Systems Team are dedicated to the ongoing monitoring, maintenance and improvement of these highly complex systems. Not only that, they also patiently provide internal IT support.
With a keen eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of music and business law, our Legal and Finance team are responsible for securing and managing the rights to distribute our ever-expanding catalogue. In addition to this, they maintain our relationships with content providers, providing payments for the downloads we sell.
